2019 Norwich coach trip - 21 September
Thanks to a special grant from Cambridge City Council we were able to offer some FREE places. Also, we'd like to thank Young's Coaches for providing us with an affordable, reliable vehicle and driver.
The sun shone again on our coach trip. We had double the number of attendees than last year and all seemed happy to have been to Norwich.
We were unable to chat to people while waiting for the bus to collect us as the bus arrived early. Therefore, we only have a few people's stories of what they did. The walking tour from the Forum was reported to be excellent. One of our attendees had been touring record shops and some others visited the castle. Another couple took the open top tour bus and had fun getting lost.

Personally, my husband and I had a great time. We visited Dragon Hall (a 13th century building now used as a centre for writers), discovered a Wetherspoon's we hadn't visited before, walked along the river, stumbled across an artisan market in an old shoe factory and New Mills Air Compressor Station (which sounded impressive but it turns out they used compress air to move sewerage).

As before, we chose the date of the trip to coincide with the Heritage Open Days as this ensures some events open for this day only and some that charge are usually free. This is an annual event throughout the country. Find out what is available at https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/.
